Industrial Hygiene

Organizations need industrial hygiene services to ensure worker health and safety, and to help achieve and maintain compliance with applicable regulations. For nearly 10 years, Argus Pacific has designed hundreds of industrial hygiene solutions for public and private organizations. From hearing conservation at a construction site to chemical exposure prevention at a paint manufacturer, we're the experts.

The industrial hygiene maxim is "Recognition, Evaluation, and Control." Recognition can come from a watchful employee, a regulatory inspection, or as a result of an emergency. An Argus IH professional investigates the issue, looking for its cause or causes. Then we present best practice solutions to help create the safest possible environment. Once controls have been implemented, we often revisit the site to evaluate the success of the recommended solutions.

Contaminant Plume Under Small Town in Washington

Skykomish Air and Noise Monitoring

Years of railroad operations left a contaminant plume under the town of Skykomish, Washington. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway is working to remediate the entire town site.

As the project's industrial hygienist, Argus Pacific has designed the air-monitoring program to protect the town residents and workers from exposure to potentially harmful dusts and vapors.

This three-year project entails coordination with the prime environmental consulting firm, The Retec Group, as well as the Department of Ecology, and the town and residents of Skykomish.
