David Kernan is certified in the Comprehensive Practice of Industrial Hygiene with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and also with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University in Chemistry. Mr. Kernan has over thirty five years experience in safety, industrial hygiene and managing hazardous materials in buildings during renovations, demolitions and routine commercial and industrial building operations.
Mr. Kernan directed a hazardous materials training program in Bellevue, Washington from 1994 until 1998, including asbestos worker and supervisor basic and refresher training courses approved by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries; asbestos building inspector, asbestos management planner and asbestos project designer courses approved by the US EPA, and HAZWOPER related courses.
Former positions include Western Region Industrial Hygiene Manager for Weyerhaeuser Company, Industrial Hygiene Compliance Officer for OSHA, and Industrial Hygienist for the US Navy and the University of Washington.
